Fit Together

2011 has been great so far and pretty soon we are entering the new 2012. This year we have been setting the pace for our people to connect with God, connect with one another better and also connect with unbelievers so we can win them for Christ. I believe God is up to something in 2012.  

We are starting the year 2012 with 21 days of Prayer and Fasting. Praise the Lord. Why are we doing this? We desire to begin with God and seek His will upon this time of uncertainty. Looking at the condition in Europe and America today, there's no better way for the church to rise up -- on their knees to pray. So, we are looking forward to welcome 2012 with great anticipation and with 21 days fast.

Our theme for City Blessing Movement in 2012 is the word "Synergy" which was taken from Ephesians 4:16. Portland City Blessing Pastoral Team confirmed this theme and Bible verse and being creative in its approach, will instead use the word "Fit Together."

But first, let's look at the word "Synergy"

• In Christianity the word "synergy" = The doctrine that individual salvation is achieved through a combination of divine grace and human will

• Synergism in life sciences & Allied applications / Physiology = also called synergy the working together to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effect

• Synergy = from Greek word sunergos, from syn + ergon work.

• Synergy may be defined as two or more agents working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the agents independently

• Synergism which holds that spiritual renewal is a cooperative endeavor between a person and the Holy Ghost In our theme 2011, "Connect" we use the main verse in 2 Cor.5:18, "Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation."

Ephesians 4:16 (NLT), "He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."

Other verses we can also use for different slides / slogans are in: 

• Mat.18:19 (AMP), "If two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven."

• Deu.32:30 (NKJV), "One chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight."
